about me
I help leaders work with greater clarity, courage and humanity in complex environments.
I’m a coach, author, speaker and workshop facilitator. My work sits at the intersection of leadership, agility, product thinking, coaching and organisational change.
For over two decades I’ve been helping leaders rediscover the courage to lead authentically and respond more skilfully to complexity without losing themselves in the process.
I’ve written best-selling books including Scrum Mastery, Product Mastery, and The Coach’s Casebook. My latest, Calm REBEL Leadership, distills years of coaching into a framework for rebelling — not with noise or aggression, but with calm, integrity, and impact.
I’ve spoken on stages around the world — from TEDx events to major international conferences — and have worked with organisations across industries to transform how they approach leadership.
Why Coaching Matters
My 1:1 work with leaders is where the deepest transformation happens. I help conscientious leaders stop shrinking, rescuing, or self-sacrificing, and instead lead in a way that feels true to them. Coaching with me blends deep listening, incisive questioning, and practical frameworks so you walk away not just with insight, but with action.
How I Work
My approach is practical, reflective and grounded in real organisational life
I’m not coming in with the assumption that people are broken, lazy or resistant. More often, they’re responding as best they can to the conditions around them. That means good work starts with understanding context properly rather than rushing to judgement.
When I work with clients, I try to bring a mix of challenge and care. I’ll ask difficult questions when they need asking, but I’m not interested in performance, ego or trying to look clever. I want the work to be useful. That usually means helping people see what they’ve been normalising, name what matters, and take steps that are honest enough to count.
A lot of what I do is about helping people find a better response to complexity: not by becoming more controlling, louder or more polished, but by becoming more aware, more adaptable and more deliberate.
My Beliefs
We are a constant work in progress
- I believe leadership is not about certainty but constantly learning through discovery and reflection
- I believe coaching should help people think and act more effectively, not make them dependent.
- I believe agility has always been more about learning, adaptation and humanity than process compliance.
- I believe people do better work when they are trusted and trust themselves to be themselves.
- I believe many of the people doing the most valuable work in organisations are quietly carrying more than others realise.
